Designs art and copy layouts for material to be presented by visual communications media such as books, magazines, newspapers, television, and packaging: Studies illustrations and photographs to plan presentation of material, product, or service. Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles, and esthetic design concepts. Draws sample of finished layout and presents sample to Art Director for approval. Prepares notes and instructions for workers who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing. Reviews final layout and suggests improvements as needed. May prepare illustrations or rough sketches of material according to instructions of client or supervisor. May prepare series of drawings to illustrate sequence and timing of story development for television production. May mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer. May specialize in particular field, medium, or type of layout. May produce still and animated graphic formats for on-air and taped portions of television news broadcasts, using electronic video equipment. May photograph layouts, using camera, to make layout prints for supervisor or client. May develop negatives and prints, using negative and print developing equipment, tools and work aids to produce layout photographs for client or supervisor. May key information into computer equipment to create layouts for client or supervisor.

Develops and provides content for the organization's web site. Performs as editor of the site's content and gathers and researches information. Designs graphics to enhance the look of the site. Responsible for making improvements or enhancements. Usually requires a 4 year degree in English, Journalism, Graphic Design, or Communications and 2-3 years experience in web page design and HTML.

Oversees the internet web site of the organization. Manages database development, technical programming, web site design, and daily operations. Directs the activities of other web site staff, including web developer, web author, web administrator, or webmaster. Usually requires a 4 year degree in information systems and 5-6 years experience including 3 years internet/client server experience.

Oversees all technical aspects of an organization's website. Upgrades and maintains servers, hardware, software, telecommunication connections, e-mail, and security systems. Investigates system errors, performs backups, and ensures user accessibility and site performance. Usually requires a degree in computer science and related technical experience.

Designs and implements internal and external web pages and applications. Converts documents into HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) or other complex programming language. Determines user's needs, strategies, and goals and develops web pages that meet those needs. Typically requires 2-4 years IS and/or internet experience.

Manages the design and development of IS databases and related master files. Oversees contributions by Systems, Operations, and Technical Support to develop and improve databases and master files. Guarantees the performance integrity and quality of databases. Controls system capacity for existing requirements and plans for future needs. Sometimes will supervise or mentor Database Analysts. Usually requires an Information Systems degree with comprehensive experience with database systems and related software.

Under direct supervision, assists in preparing specifications and user requirements. Encodes, tests, debugs, and documents programs for relatively straightforward or small projects. May assist programmer/analysts on more complex projects. Usually requires 1-2 years relevant professional experience or equivalent education.

Directs the overall financial plans and accounting practices of an organization. Oversees treasury, accounting, budget, tax and audit activities of the organization and subsidiaries. Oversees financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensures timely financial and statistical reports for management and/or Board use. This is the top finance and accounting position for the organization. Requires CPA or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
